The main difference compared to the Hub E1 is that the M100 variant does not have a Wi-Fi repeater function but is a Thread Border Router (and Matter Bridge/Controller). The Aqara Hub M100 is therefore the most cost-effective Aqara Gateway, allowing you to easily connect Zigbee and Thread devices, whether you’re using the Aqara platform or other brands via Matter. Thanks to built-in Bluetooth and Seamless Connection technology, new devices are automatically recognized and guided through setup via the Aqara app.
